Harper’s Topiary Garden

Visit this beautiful hidden place on what seems an average suburban neighborhood in the city of San Diego. It was created by Edna Harper and her husband Alex to give this space a different look. For the last 15 years they have been pruning each bush, shaping more than 50 different creations, inspired by their travels around the world.

This lovely couple is happy to share their living sculptures with the public at no charge, as long as everyone promises to take care of each figure. This garden has various shapes from dinosaurs, surfers, a Buddha and various animals.

Ho Chi Minh Trail

If you are looking for adventure and seek a spectacular place, you cannot miss this trail. To get to the trail you must follow the path right next to La Jolla Farms Road where you will see a sign. Go with caution as it is a steep, treacherous and narrow trail, but it will be worth it for its beautiful rocks and panoramic views of the ocean.

Broken Hill

This beautiful site is located at the top of the Torrey Pines State Reserve, making it a perfect place to see incredible sunsets. When you get here you will also have the opportunity to see the rarest pine in America and fascinating sedimentary rocks that once formed the ocean seafloor. Without a doubt, a charming place that you cannot miss.

Villa Montezuma

This villa is in the Sherman Heights neighborhood, it’s a beautiful red mansion built in the late 19th century. However, what you don’t know is that it turns out to be one of the most haunted houses in San Diego. At the time it belonged to the composer Jesse Shepard but had different owners over the years, who practiced various types of spiritual sessions inside the house.

Until 2006 it was open to the public but closed due to “safety concerns” and since then it has not been completely open to the public. Visit this haunted house … if you dare.

Swami’s Beach

Finally, we cannot finish this list without one of the most beautiful beaches in California. This beach is perfect for all, from those who seek it to relax on its sands, to those who seek to surf its waves. In addition, it has some picturesque tide pools that can be enjoyed at low tide. It also offers a variety of sea cucumbers, starfish, crabs and oyster fossils.
