Destination Guide to Embrace Your Most Adventurous Side

Updated: Jul 6, 2023

Starting to plan a new trip is one of our favorite activities; the excitement of choosing a spot, the activities to partake in, the food, the culture, and the experiences you’ll have. And among all the decisions you have to make when planning a trip, the main challenge is deciding what sort of trip it will be. That’s why, thinking more about adventure and exploration, we’ve created a destination guide with places that perhaps you’ve never heard of before and now, will be among your list of places to visit.

1. Iwokrama Forest Reserve – Guyana

In addition to the reserve, we’ve included the Kaieteur Falls which leaves all its visitors breathless. Guyana is a good option for anyone looking for adventurous and exploratory tourism.

The Iwokrama Forest is one of the four last, original tropical forests in the world. It invites us to discover the wonders that are hidden in this small territory covered mainly by jungle, accommodating some impressive attractions.

Kaieteur Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in the world at 226 meters (741 ft) high. Guyana not only offers an adventure due to the incredible sights and alternative tourism, it takes you through its culture, customs and traditions.

2. Cappadocia – Turkey

Cappadocia is located in the historical region of Central Anatolia, in Turkey. This place is characterized by its geological formation that is unique in the world, known as “fairy chimneys”: tall, rocky formations in the shapes of cones that group together in Monks Valley, Göreme and other sites. In 1985, it was included in the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

Its peculiar characteristic makes it an ideal (and unique) place for adventurous tourism. Experience new cultures and historic places.

One of the most popular activities in the area is to watch the sunrise inside a hot-air balloon. It is one of the most impressive experiences that you can have, and the memory of it will last a lifetime.

3. Aquatic Sports in Australia

Whomever is looking for adventurous tourism needs to go to Australia, one of the preferred destinations for water-sport fanatics. We are not exaggerating when we say it is the perfect destination for those with an adventurous spirit. If anything characterizes this place it is the waves that are excellent to practice surfing, in addition to activities like windsurfing, bodyboarding, or kitesurfing.

One of the places in Australia that we recommend is Melbourne. This city has famous surfing spots: Bells Beach, Point Impossible, Point Danger, Apollo Bay, and Warrnambool.

There are also a lot of other options like hiking trails through national parks; you can cross the red desert on a 4x4, or climb the spectacular Ayers Rock.

4. Whistler – Canada

Whistler has the most visited ski-resort in North America, an ideal destination for adventure and for winter-sport fanatics. Exciting, right?

The two mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb, have a sum of nearly 200 ski slopes with varying degrees of difficulty, and five snow parks. In addition, the snow is so abundant that in certain conditions it is possible to find slopes open even in the middle of summer, mid-July.

In addition to the extreme snow adventures, you’ll find parks for people who just want to take things at a slower pace.
